> Togetherness is Ahmedabad's most inclusive and happening Latin dance community, founded in 2014 by Vivek Advani. We teach Salsa, Bachata, and Kizomba — from complete beginners to advanced dancers. We run group classes, private coaching, weekly social dance parties, workshops with international guest artists, and couple wedding choreography.

## What We Do

Togetherness is the go-to place in Ahmedabad (and Gujarat) for anyone who wants to learn or enjoy social dancing. We have been running continuously since 2014, making us one of the longest-running Latin dance communities in the city.

### Dance Styles We Teach
- **Salsa** — energetic, fast-paced, with footwork and spin techniques
- **Bachata** — close-connection partner dance with body waves and hip movement
- **Kizomba** — smooth, slow, intimate partner dance rooted in Angolan music
- **Urban Kizz** — modern fusion of Kizomba with urban music
- **Bachazouk** — fusion of Bachata and Zouk styles

## Events & Socials

Togetherness hosts weekly Sunday social dance parties in Ahmedabad. These are informal gatherings where dancers of all levels rotate partners, practice Salsa, Bachata, and Kizomba, and meet the community. They are the best way to actually get good at social dancing.

We also run ticketed events, workshops with national and international guest artists, and occasional congresses (multi-day festivals with performances and masterclasses).

Past guest artists have included: Jagatha (Jags), Hitesh Salsawala, Irisha, Sahiba, Ranjani, Bhavin, Soonruta, Yatin, Supreme, Cornel, Rithika, Prerna Nepali, Suraj Verma, Diego and Sofia (from Argentina), Megha Khatri, Snaden Shawn, Shreya Shetty, Bharat, DJ AV, and many more.

## About the Founder

**Vivek Advani** has been teaching Salsa, Bachata, and Kizomba since 2014. He has been invited to teach internationally in Berlin and Amsterdam, and has trained under world-renowned artists including Terry, Sir Eddie Torres Sr. & Jr., Fernando Sosa, Daniel & Desiree, and Ataca y La Alemana. He has danced in Germany, Netherlands, Greece, Italy, Thailand, Lithuania, Japan, and more — but Ahmedabad is always home.

## Fees

- Regular: ₹3,500 per month per dance form
- Scholarship batches (rare, 1-2 per year): effective price ~₹6,000 for 3 months with 60%+ refund
- Sunday socials: ticketed separately (price varies per event, dynamic pricing)

## Frequently Asked Questions

**Do I need a partner to join?**
No. Most people come solo. You rotate partners throughout class and socials — that's how social dancing works. It's actually better to come alone.

**I've never danced. Can I still come?**
Yes. Beginner batches start from zero. For Sunday socials, there's a free beginner workshop at 8 PM before the dancing starts.

**What should I wear?**
Comfortable clothes you can move in. Dance shoes or sneakers are fine. Sports shoes with grip soles can be a problem.

**Is this only for young people?**
No age limit. The community has dancers from their 20s to 50s. If you enjoy music and moving, you'll fit in.

**Do you teach wedding choreography?**
Yes. Vivek and the team create personalised first-dance or couple performance routines for weddings.
